Studio
A small team, end-to-end responsibility.
AYNA design studio runs its interior projects and its own object and furniture collections under one roof. The same team draws the plan of a space and designs the piece that will enter it, so decisions about dimension, material and detail never come apart.
We take on few projects at a time. The reason is simple: understanding how a space will be used takes time, and cutting that time weakens the result directly.
Design Philosophy
Few decisions, made properly.
What makes a space good is not the number of ideas in it but a handful of right decisions carried through consistently. Proportion, light and material — get those three right and the rest simplifies.
We choose materials not as they are new but as they will be in five years. Bronze that takes the mark of a hand, timber that softens, plaster whose tone settles: each lets time contribute to the design.
And finally: a space should reflect the person living in it, not its designer. That is where the studio takes its name — ayna is Turkish for mirror.
Principles
How we work.
Begin by listening
We do not start drawing before understanding the daily rhythm of a space and of the person in it.
Plan the light
The path of daylight through the day is resolved before any artificial fitting.
Choose material against time
What decides is not how it looks new, but how it will look in years.
Make the detail invisible
A good detail draws no attention; it only makes everything else sit right.
Build it repairable
A piece that cannot be taken apart and repaired is not yet designed.
Carry it through
Once a decision is made, it is applied consistently across the whole space.
